If you came here via a search engine or recommendation, we encourage you to join us by signing up and becoming a member (which is, of course, free). Inside you will find forums and over 3,000 active members in various stages of quitting drinking. Whichever help you feel you need right now or in the journey to a sober life - the people assembled here can help you.

WQD is a non-affiliated, member run, web site dedicated to building a home for those seeking aid in kicking an addiction to alcohol. We are not a "miracle cure" or a "one size fits all" group but rather a lose assembly of individuals from all over the globe and all walks of life. Our members use what helps, from self-help groups to books and this site, to become and stay sober. Come on in, we're the friendliest, least prejudicial people you'll ever meet.

Oh, and it should be going without saying - your anonymity, your privacy, and your safety is the number one concern on the site. Members and Admins only know as much as you are willing to disclose. Your private messages and chat are encrypted from even the eyes of our very small staff of volunteers and the systems administrators. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to come on in and ask.

Best, Jonas - for the team.

Thank you to YOU and everyone that helped and continues to assist and create such a welcoming, wonderful home for all of us "humans" needing support, encouragement and advice during our most challenging times and moments. The anonymity here allows for an openness that brings about a whole new opportunity for myself and others like me to truly make a positive change in our lives. Sharing our weaknesses with those we know in our day to day lives isn't easy or even helpful. This outlet/avenue for sharing these weaknesses and then sharing the day to day successess is truly a blessing. I never knew this existed, and I feel all of us that have found your site have done so for a reason. No coincidences. We all came here because we all need help and support. To think that we could do this all alone or without the wisdom and knowledge of others who've already been through the same hardships is foolish--So, thank you for creating and sustaining such a powerfully positive and inspirational "home" for us all.
With great sincerity and gratitude,
C

If you are here and have any doubts, just sign up and ask a few questions.

So many people look for help but stop because they are afraid to try.

You don't have to stay. You don't have to commit.

But you'll be happier if you do. :)

It might take a few efforts.

Maybe you are just looking for information.

Just say WTF and do it.
