Zits?

Hello All-

I am on 19 days today and I seem to be getting quite a few zits on my neck and shoulder. I usually don't get any at all. Can anyone correlate that with quitting alcohol?

Yup, it's that common it even has a name 'quit zits'
Apparently something to do with the body working overtime ridding itself of toxins, but that doesn't sound too scientific to me. :)

I think the reason is this: In a non drinking person, the liver gets rid of toxins through sweat and urine, but if there is an overload it deposits them into fat. If you drink your liver is so busy processing the alcohol that the toxins go straight to your fat tissue. Once you give the liver a rest it goes back to the old sweat and urine methods, which has probably been a bit of a shock for your skin. When you shower/bath rub yourself vigourously with a towel to make sure the pores are clear. It will pass.
