I'm three days into this quit after what I'm sure is a pancreatitis attack - very scary. I still feel woozy, almost drunk, and weak. Went to the gym was able to run etc.... but when does the brain buzz go away? Will continue to sleep, eat well, and exercise... Just wanted to her your experiences. Thanks!

Well done on 3 days. Most people lose the fuzzy brain at about 2 weeks, but I found it was nearer 3. I've heard pancreatitis is painful, so hopefully that will motivate your quit, but posting positive experiences of not drinking I think also helps.
Welcome.

You should begin to feel a little more normal every day.
For those of us that have drank heavily for quite some time it takes the body a while to completely flush out all of the booze that is in our systems.
For me each day of sobriety makes my body, mind and spirit feel a little better.
Look at it this way, your body has been used to doing something for a long (depending on your length of usage) time and it takes a little while for it to come back to "normal"
For a lot of us, normal was detoxing on a daily or weekly basis. You can't really expect the body to just do a 180 on the spot.
Give it time and you will become to appreciate being sober and something much more important, being alive and in control.

Ditto on what clearblue said. Each time you feel a twinge of weirdness or fuzziness or funkiness, just remember that your amazing body is doing its job. Visualize the body cleaning out the poison. It's pretty cool!
And by all means, bask in the glow of feeling like you are doing the right thing.

It WILL get better. The less poison that is in your system the better. And every day your body will keep working on repairing the situation. When I feel like drinking again I think about all the reasons I don't drink anymore. You have to really focus on those reasons hard. It works really well for me, and for a lot of people. Good luck.
